Text Box: Sailing on the USS Victory.  We had a great time on the ship.  On board was Capt Zukauskas, Sergeant Wallace, Corporal Voyles and medic Pvt. Ward.  The 2nd Rangers and the 6th Cavalry drove off  a German fighter that threaten all aboard.  Sergeant Wallace

Voyles shoot at the plane from the Aft poop deck.  After everyone was safe there was a recognition of Veterans for their dedications and sacrifice.  A reef was laid outside the sunshine bridge and  the world war II veteran  were recognized.  At the end of the day the USS Victory was back at birth.  Over 600 people paid $100 dollars each to ride the USS Victory to sea.   All monies collected will be used to keep the ship afloat and sea worthy.   6th Cavalry was proud to be a part of such a worthy cause.

Text Box: Group shot with two old vets.  Steve Lazzaro was a veteran in both Pacific and Europe campaign with the Navy.  Battles include Iwo Jima and Okinawa.  Charles C Ready a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge and Hurtgen Forrest. Was with a member of the 453rd AAA with the 83rd Infantry.
